Perplexity to Reportedly Expand Its Revenue Sharing Programme for Publishers to Comet Browser

Perplexity, the Silicon Valley-based artificial intelligence (AI) startup, has reportedly expanded its revenue-sharing programme for publishers. As per the report, the company will now compensate media houses and website publishers when their content appears on the Comet web browser’s AI searches. The expansion follows last year’s announcement when the company first announced its revenue-sharing programme to pay publishers for surfacing their content on its AI answer engine platform.

CloudSEK, a cybersecurity firm, highlighted that artificial intelligence (AI) summarising tools can be tricked into carrying out commands of threat actors using benign CSS tricks. These tricks usually involve using hidden text in emails, messages, weblinks, and web pages. When a user asks an AI chatbot or an AI summarising tool to process the content and provide a summary, it also processes the invisible text, which are typically prompt injections aimed at overwhelming the AI system.
