Apple Introduces Memory Integrity Enforcement to Protect iPhone 17 Series from Sophisticated Malware Attacks

Apple introduced a new security feature alongside the iPhone 17 series launch, aimed at defending against advanced malware threats. Called Memory Integrity Enforcement (MIE), the system uses a tagging method to verify memory access attempts. Apple noted that implementing MIE required major changes to memory allocation, the A19 chip, the operating system, and development tools.

Initially supporting English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, Live Translation works by pressing both AirPods’ stems, translating detected foreign speech, and playing it back in the user’s language.
