Apple introduced a new security feature alongside the iPhone 17 series launch, aimed at defending against advanced malware threats. Called Memory Integrity Enforcement (MIE), the system uses a tagging method to verify memory access attempts. Apple noted that implementing MIE required major changes to memory allocation, the A19 chip, the operating system, and development tools.

Apple’s Live Translation will be available via a software update for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 with ANC, but it requires a connected iPhone to function. Users need an iPhone 15 Pro or later running iOS 26, as the feature relies on Apple Intelligence. Initially supporting English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, Live Translation works by pressing both AirPods’ stems, translating detected foreign speech, and playing it back in the user’s language.

In iOS 26, Apple has introduced a new icon tinting feature that adds a layer of customisation to the Home Screen. This feature seems to let users set an icon tint colour that matches their iPhone case or the iPhone. This new customisation feature is unlikely to function with third-party cases.
