India's smartphone market witnessed a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 5 percent by volume and 18 percent by value in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, according to Counterpoint Research's Monthly India Smartphone Tracker. The report highlights that this marks a value-led shift in consumer behaviour. Moreover, Apple has entered the list of the top five smartphone makers in India by volume. The Cupertino company also topped the list in terms of wholesale market share by value, witnessing robust demand for its iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 models.

Microsoft’s AI chief, Mustafa Suleyman, has dismissed the idea that artificial intelligence can ever be conscious, calling such research “the wrong question.” Speaking at the AfroTech Conference, he said AI cannot experience pain or emotions, and only simulates them. Suleyman, a long-time advocate for “humanist AI,” argued that since AI lacks a pain network, it cannot suffer or deserve rights like humans.
