Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Chipset Key Specifications and Benchmark Scores Tipped; May Power Upcoming iQOO, Vivo Phones

Qualcomm is rumoured to be developing a new chipset that could join the recently introduced 8 Elite Gen 5. As per a tipster, the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 could feature a design blueprint identical to the flagship SoC. It is said to be fabricated based on TSMC’s N3p process. Tipster suggests OEMs such as iQOO, Motorola, Meizu, and Vivo could use the unannounced SoC in their upcoming smartphones.

Realme GT 8 Pro is now confirmed to launch in India next month. The flagship handset will be powered by Qualcomm's 3nm octa core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, coupled with a HyperVision AI chip. It is also confirmed to carry a Ricoh GR-tuned rear camera setup. These specifications are similar to its Chinese counterpart. The Realme GT 8 Pro recently debuted in China on October 21 with 7,000mAh battery, alongside the standard Realme GT 8.

Samsung Wallet Updated With UPI Onboarding and Support for Biometric Payments

Samsung has announced new updates to its Samsung Wallet in India. Now, the platform allows users to set up Unified Payments Interface (UPI) during the initial setup of their new Galaxy device. It also brings biometric authentication, eliminating the need for a PIN. The update brings improved Tap and Pay support in the country. The digital wallet now supports direct online usage of stored credit and debit cards at select merchant checkouts.

Lava has begun teasing the India launch of the Lava Agni 4, confirmed to debut in November. The latest teaser highlights a metal build with metallic-finish buttons, marking a design upgrade from previous models. Leaks suggest the smartphone will feature a 6.78-inch full-HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, UFS 4.0 inbuilt storage, and a battery of over 7,000mAh capacity. Expected to be priced around Rs. 25,000, the Agni 4 will succeed the Lava Agni 3, which features a secondary AMOLED screen at the back.
